Evaluation 4

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

YouTube - We used this to both upload our videos and to research other artists in our genre. And most importantly find our artist and song for our video. Pros of using youtube is that it is widely used, millions watch each day so we have a wide variety of inspiration.

Picnik - Used to create our album back and magazine cover. It great website to edit colours. And it also has fantastic fonts!

Final Cut Express - Used to create our music video! We were able to edit and manipulate our clips how we wanted them. We used a wide array of editing such as desaturation, colour correcting, blur, fades, cross dissolve and many more.

iTunes - We used iTunes to import our song for the music video.

iPhoto - Used to both import and edit photos used for both our music video, digipack and magazine.

Photobooth - Used to record videos to post on our blog and to also record a part for our music video.

iPhone - Used to take photos of out story board, draw ups of our CD covers and behind the scenes photos. The use of convergence here is great. We were able to take, use and import pictures on to the MACS and our blog.

Photoshop - We used photoshop to edit photos to create our digipack and magazine ad. However, we after opted to use Picnik as we got a better result for our CD and magazine.

Video Camera and Tripod - Used to shoot the footage of our music video and also to record our audience feed back videos and our CD research. The tripod was used to keep our shots steady.

Camera - Used to take location shots, shots of behind the scenes and to snap some amazing shots when our photo shoot took place for our CD cover and magazine ad.

Powerpoint - To create our presentation of our ideas and plans for our chosen song.

Surveymonkey - To ask and present the feedback from surveys we made surrounding our music video ideas.

Facebook - We used facebook accounts to let our friends know about our surveys so they could take part and also so we would have a wide range of results as family and friends of different ages and different tastes of music could reply.

Timeglider - To show our research of the history of music videos easily and in a much more interesting way than just typed out.
